LAA Statement of Solidarity
The Learning Assistant Alliance (LAA) reaffirms its commitment to support inclusive and equitable education within and across the disciplines. In the United States of America, the current state of unrest results not only from the recent unjust deaths of many Black Americans, including Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McDade, but also from generations of systemic racism, violence, and oppression against Black people. We stand in full support of movements that oppose the routine criminalization and devaluing of Black lives. We commit to educating ourselves and providing opportunities to the entire LAA community to incorporate anti-racist curricula and conversations into our work. Over the coming months, we will be gathering LAA-specific resources and will make them available on the LAA Resources site. Until then, you may find valuable resources here.
