Mission

Mission

The mission of the Learning Assistant Alliance is to connect people and institutions to support the implementation and assessment of the LA Model, with goals of improving educational experiences and access across the disciplines.

About the Learning Assistant Alliance

The Learning Assistant Alliance (LAA) is a community of more than 3,000 people representing more than 500 institutions from LA Programs around the world who share resources, information, and experiences to support the implementation and assessment of the LA Model.

In order to achieve our mission, the LA Alliance:

  • runs training and support workshops, both virtually and in-person at institutions for faculty and program coordinators/directors,
  • facilitates community via a Slack workspace,
  • curates LA Model resources via the LAA website, available to LAA members free of charge, and
  • offers a software package called LA Campus to more efficiently manage your LA program. LA Campus is a secure way for faculty to submit and receive feedback on their plans for working with LAs, provides equitable opportunities for all students to apply for LA positions, and assists program directors/coordinators with managing timelines, processes, and communication within their programs. The software supports collection of longitudinal data and broader goals of program assessment and sustainability.

No matter your role on campus, you’re invited to join the community. Create an account today at https://learningassistantalliance.org/
