International LA Conference (ILAC)

The Learning Assistant Alliance hosts an annual conference for the LAA community each fall.

ILAC 2025 Website

ILAC is a transformative conference designed to strengthen the Learning Assistant community by: (1) bringing practitioners and researchers together for the exchange of best practices and insights, (2) inspiring the generation of new ideas, and (3) fostering local, regional, and global collaborations among participants.

ILAC is for:

  • LA Program Directors and Coordinators who direct all aspects of implementing their LA Program, such as funding, infrastructure for recruiting and hiring LAs, faculty development, LA development, program evaluation, and working with other campus constituents such as Chairs, Deans, and Provosts, directors of other peer instruction programs (i.e. SI, PLTL, tutoring), and other campus Offices that may be involved in institutionalizing aspects of the LA Program.
  • Faculty who work with LAs in their courses, lead weekly instructional team prep meetings, and continue to iterate their course designs in order to improve outcomes and experiences for students and LAs. Experienced LA faculty may also be taking on leadership within their LA Program by mentoring faculty new to working with LAs and/or partnering with LA Program directors and coordinators in some aspects of program implementation or advocacy.
  • LA Pedagogy Instructors who develop and lead pedagogical training for new LAs and who may also be involved in ongoing development for experienced LAs.
  • Researchers who engage in scholarship and/or program evaluation related to LA Programs and the LA model.
  • Administrators who support an LA program or wish to work with faculty to start an LA program at their institution.
