Interactive session(s) designed to meet the needs of your institution/community

Virtual or in-person workshops provide introductory or advanced content for sites that use or want to use LAs. Workshop topics can include a variety of topics, such as: Essential Elements of LA Programs, Transforming your Course with LAs, What is the Weekly Prep Session?, or Collecting and Analyzing Data.

Benefits of an Institutional Workshop:
  • Build connections among faculty within your institution
  • Create customized workshop(s) for specific institutional opportunities or challenges
  • Build shared understanding of the LA model and how it can relate to other peer instructional programs on campus (for instance: tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Peer-Led Team Learning, help rooms, learning centers, undergraduate Teaching Assistants)
  • Learn from experienced facilitators who have built, grown, and sustained LA programs at similar-sized institutions that serve similar student populations

Choose between single-session, half-day, or full-day workshops. Sessions will be led by two experienced facilitators, can accommodate up to 24 participants, and can also be customized to reflect the needs of your institution. Workshops can be held in-person at your institution or virtual via Zoom.

Pricing for single-session workshops (90 minutes):

  • $2,000 (2 facilitators)

Pricing for half-day (4-hr) workshops:

  • $3,500 (2 facilitators)

Pricing for Full Day (8-hr) workshops:

  • $5,100 (2 facilitators)

Prices above do not include facilitator travel expenses for in-person workshops. Travel expenses will be quoted and included in the total workshop price.

Regional Workshops

Regional Workshops are typically offered in the spring and summer, at colleges and universities with existing LA Programs. Regional Workshops provide the opportunity to bring together a smaller group of participants (~50) while at the same time reducing potential travel constraints by offering workshops around different regions of the country/world and at different times of the year.

Topics included in Regional Workshops are similar to those at the International LA Conference, with local specializations highlighted. Standard Regional Workshops include core sessions focused on LA model elements (integrating LAs into courses, weekly preparation sessions, LA pedagogy course), research and assessment, as well as information about developing, sustaining, and scaling LA Programs.

In addition to this core, many standard Regional Workshops feature sessions related to specific theme(s). Some Regional Workshops are focused solely on a specialized theme and do not include standard sessions; in these cases, this is communicated in the workshop description.
