Two publications in The Learning Assistance Review by LAA community authors
Check out TLAR Volume 29, #4 Summer 2025 for two papers from LAA community authors: “Teaching Undergraduate Learning Assistants about Giving Effective Feedback” by Betsy Feldman (McIntosh) at the University of Colorado Boulder, and “Flipping the Classroom with Learning Assistant (LA) Study Groups” by Deanna Acosta and her colleagues at Rutgers University.
With the Giving Effective Feedback paper, you can find readings given to LAs in the LA Pedagogy Course in Appendix 1, while the paper itself is a small research project examining how LAs are able to engage with this information based on the reading.
As an official publication of the International College Learning Center Association (ICLCA), The Learning Assistance Review (TLAR) seeks to foster communication among higher education learning center professionals. Its audience includes learning center administrators, teaching staff, professional or student worker tutors, consultants, mentors, faculty members, and administrators interested in improving post-secondary students' learning skills. TLAR is available free of charge to all ICLCA members.
