The Student Engagement Specialist contributes to high-impact learning experiences across the university by supporting student-facing instructional development and academic engagement initiatives. They will assist with training, mentorship, instructional observations, and ongoing program evaluation and improvement for programs supporting undergraduate and graduate students. They will mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to student employees in embedded support roles - LAs and others.

The University of Utah will be mentoring a Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) student for the summer of 2026 as part of their ongoing NSF-funded Observation in Field Geology research project.  This opportunity is open to undergraduates who are non-University of Utah students. The project does not require one to have a background in geology, as they will learn what is needed during the summer. This might be a good fit for an LA or future science teacher who is interested in participating in a STEM Education research project.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at George Mason University has an opening for an assistant professor.  This will include opportunities to teach with LAs!
